Why I Don’t Like Dark Mode

Dark mode has become all the rage in recent years, with many apps and operating systems implementing the feature. The idea behind dark mode is that it reduces the amount of blue light emitted by electronic devices, which is thought to disrupt the natural sleep-wake cycle and cause eye strain. While this may be true for some people, I personally prefer the traditional “light mode” aesthetic and have found that dark mode actually causes more problems for me.

One of the main reasons I don’t like dark mode is that it can be hard to read. When the background is dark and the text is light, it can be difficult to make out the words on the screen, especially in dimly lit environments. This is particularly true for people with certain visual impairments, who may find dark mode to be more of a hindrance than a help.

Another reason I don’t like dark mode is that it can be harder on the eyes. While it may reduce the amount of blue light emitted by electronic devices, the contrast between the dark background and light text can actually be more jarring to the eyes. This can cause eye strain, headaches, and other problems.

Lastly, i don’t find the aesthetics of Dark mode as pleasing as the light mode. For example, white background with black text give a sense of neatness and clarity. I find it more relaxing and easier to focus on my work as compared to dark mode.

Overall, while dark mode may be beneficial for some people, it’s not for everyone. If you’re someone who prefers the traditional “light mode” aesthetic, don’t feel like you have to switch to dark mode just because it’s popular. Everyone’s different and what works for one person may not work for another, and it’s important to find a mode that works best for you.
